By far the most common question that comes with people who are new to DSL is, 'Will my wireless card work?' The short answer is yes. The long answer is, it may take a little work, but you will be pleased with the results.

Cards That Work, But May Take Some Effort

These cards won't work out of the box, but most of them work with ndiswrapper, drivers from the manufacturer's site, or with a little work. Look also here

  • Encore enuwi-g works with the ndiswrapper of Suse 10.2 distros
  • Gigafast 741-UIC / Zydas 1201 chipset
  • Level One WNC-0301 (RT2571W chip): Works natively on 2.4/6 kernels. Driver must be compiled, and there is a dependancy on kernel source code.

  • Sitecom wl-535 v1 002/ wl-168 ID 0547:0151 chipset rtl8187 (autoinstalled on debian etch/lenny, ubuntu)
